FAQ

What is the Georgia Alliance?

Georgia Alliance FC players will give players from Georgia Rush, Inter Atlanta, Georgia Impact, and Georgia Alliance Cobb the opportunity to participate in additional elite programming with other top players from member clubs. The players that are selected will receive additional training together and will attend nationally recognized elite tournaments as Georgia Alliance FC Elite. We are creating the best environment for our players to maximize the efforts to reach their full potential and prepare them for the next level. The teams will train over 8-10 weeks and will be playing high level teams to include Atlanta United's DA program. We will also travel to high-level events/showcases depending on the age groups.  These events/tournaments will be decided once we finalize the age groups.

When and where will training be held?

Training will be held on Sundays during the late afternoon/evening hours at Life University. Training times will be announced after the groups are set.

Costs?

The program fee will be $550 per player for all age groups.  This includes training fees, facility costs, uniforms, tournament costs, and ref fees. (travel costs are not included) Each team will train a minimum of 6 times in the Fall and the Spring for all age groups.  Depending on schedules in working around players and coaches club commitments teams will most likely train more than the allocated 6 minimum per season

Who will be on the coaching staff?

The staff will be made up of a combination of the participating clubs who will nominate their top coaches through licensing and experience as well as up and coming staff who will assist the head coaches.  Teams will have two coaches per age group. Coaches will not be permitted to coach a GA Alliance team in which they already coach in that age group and gender.  Coaching staffs will be made up of two coaches from different clubs.

Tryouts information & How do I get invited to the tryouts

Tryouts will be held on Sunday September 8th at Arizona fields in Atlanta. Please visit the tryouts section to register and for more information.  Players will be selected by their club and receive an invitation to try out for the Alliance.  Players will be sent a registration link and will have 48 hours to accept the invitation.

How does this compare with ODP?

The alliance is not comparing its program to ODP and rather are offering a program to our members that we would expect our elite players to peruse the opportunity to participate in.

What happens if the Alliance does not get a DA bid?

While the goal of the Alliance is to apply and be accepted to the USSF DA, the success and opportunity that the program provides is not self-reliant on that acceptance.  The program is about offering a unique opportunity to players to continue to gain the maximum exposure and growth while working in the partnership between the clubs.  The experience of this environment is what the philosophy of the DA is in terms of player development and we want replicate that experience for the elite players who are selected to the program.  We have tremendous confidence that we will submit a strong bid and hope that strength in working together will be recognized and rewarded with an entrance to the USSF DA program.
